do you guys remember a mod program that was like a online lobby system for the pc users playing online? it was build using IRC protocol.

in it you could arrange and create your own tournaments, keep track of live scores HAS IT happens. LIVE commentary ie it will alert u exactly when someone has scored from a particular match and who scored it too.

It was the best ever mod i have seen on a PES game a.

i posted this on the PES09 topic too but felt a proper thread was appropriate for this. anyone know if there is such a mod for PES08?
 
u mean PES ladder? I think that one's dead now, I've already lost it when i reformatted my pc this year....
i don't there's one for PES08, apart from goalconnector(for DirectIP and hamachi), but it doesn't have the live ticker and scores.
 
yea i think that was the program. it was a great mod and was wondering why tehre aint one for pes08? will tehre be one for pes09?

Why?

It was made for PES4 because it didn't have online lobbies or anything, just direct IP play, so something was needed so that people could get together and create/join each other's games. This was not needed for PES5, 6 or 08 as they had online lobbies which did the same job (albeit not as well), within the game. Plus, as neither 5, 6 or 08 allowed direct IP play (probably to stop pirate/downloaded copies being used online).

PES 08 is bad enough offline against mates who play fair, so I can't imagine how terrible it would be against the typical online Barcelona/Brazil users and cutbackers anyway so there would be no point even putting the effort into something like that...

why? because PES08 online lobby system sucks real bad. can you view live commentary on a particular game? organise mini tournaments right on the spot? nope you cant. this mod was a godsend to online footy
 
"Live commentary" - All it did was have one or two lines for yellow cards, red cards, goals, when someone quit, half time and full time. Also, why was this important, I don't think many people would be bothered about what the scores are in other random people's matches.

The tournaments were good fun though, but if you want to play tournaments you can join a site which organises them regularly anyway.

But to be honest, even if PES 08 had super smooth online play with lots of features (like 11v11) and all of what that launcher for PES4 had (tournaments etc.) and more, I still wouldn't play it at all, it's that bad.

I would like something to be made so that we can play PES5 online again though, the best PES in my opinion.
