I think this man deserves his own thread for what he has achieved as a goalkeeper. Yes, he was sometimes a bit crazy in his personal life, but his football career is one of the greatest.

Hes a goalkeeper that I've always had some respect for. I remember his 2002 WC campaign. It was down to him and Rustu but Kahn showed how experience played a huge part in a goalie's success.

Its sad how so many of the stars throughout my life time are going now. A few years ago Batistuta stopped, Albertini and Boban too, then a week ago Rui Costa. Now Oliver Kahn. Soon Maldini will stop (:( My all time favourite player. First player I knew and liked in football. First football top i ever got).

I remember hearing a story about Kahn that sounds hilarious every time it's told.

He appeared at a kids football tournament as the GK for a penalty competition. 100 penalties were taken and for every one that went in, a charity got 100 euros or something similar.

Kahn saved all 100 of them because hes simply the most competitve bastard in the world.

Awesome.

Haha he was crazy. I remember the time Shevchenko missed a PK and he celebrated like a mad man in Sheva's face. Shevchenko then went on to score 5 minutes later and we beat Bayern 4-1. I also remember in 2003 he got fined by Bayern for clubbing almost every night.

EA WILL BE DELIGHTED! One less player they can't have licensed!

(I've always hated him after I read that story, I can understand why he's done it but at the same time I think it's people like him who contributed to the death of SWOS-style databases in football games)
