As a Newcastle sympathiser all I can say is thank fuck. Though that's yet another manager come and gone. I wish they'd find some sort of stability and consistency. :roll:

Oh how I love to see Fat Sam fall on his ugly mug after all the moaning and going on about how good he is.
As for Newcastle, Im not really sure this is a good move. Another manager, with more signings and money spent. Wonder who they are going to get.
Because he's a mouthy tw@t. An example is how "good" he is when Bolton get a point or win against the bigger sides, yet when they lose its always due to the ref, other team cheating and more of that nonsense. He's a longball merchant that has thankfully been found out to be seriously lacking. Another example was that if he was Liverpool manager he would have won a lot more then Benitez, yet when he finally got to manage a "big" club (which newcastle are with the fans, stadium and the money they spend) he falls on his face. Briljant!

i am from sunderland and the nufc manager situation is becoming a real joke, they truly believe in newcastle that they are a top 4 club,even though they have wone nothing for years,
the quicker they accept that the best they can be is top 6 the better

Until stability is acheived with a good manager, and some backing from the board, Newcastle will always live on the delusions of grandeur.

He wasn't right for Newcastle United. His formations and tactics were all wrong for the 50,000+ strong faithful that pay to watch the Magpies every other week. Long balls, no character, no belief, no passion - it was 24 games in and we could all see that he didn't really know what he was doing. I don't care what anyone says, Newcastle DOES have a good squad capable of a top 6 finish every season. They just need the right man for the job - Harry Redknapp is already the bookies favourite to take over.

Newcastle's more successful recent periods have come under the longer spells of management.
Keegan and Robson.
They should have given him a season or two. But the 'famous' fans with the 'large' fanbase expect wins every week.
They are a one club town, with plenty of resources and a nice stadium, yes, but when you haven't won anything since 1969, that really is shocking. Trophies determine whether you are a big boy.
