Hey everyone, I'm Mathurin, founder and CEO of MFL, a football gaming studio.
We just released a new game mode called Arena. It's football management but fast paced, a match lasts arround 5 min and you coach it live (subs, formation, pressing...). You start in Amateur and climb 9 divisions up to Legend
It's free and you can play on browser and mobile, no download: playmfl.com
Would love to get your feedback, good or bad

Hi man, welcome and good luck for the project!

One question: is it "single player" (meaning that each player has his own "savefile" in which he plays alone versus computer-controlled teams) or is it a sort of MMO game in which, say, players play against each other and climb the leaderboards?
If it's the former, it definitely sounds interesting. Very interesting.
Should it, on the other hand, be the latter... Well, it wouldn't exactly be my cup of tea.

I'll be checking the site soon, though!

Thanks aLe! Yes it is more MMO. You compete against real people and climb the leaderboard.

Yes I imagined it by seeing the site. Sorry, but it's not what I was looking for then.

Out of curiosity, how are players handled in the game's universe? I guess they're fictional (as in Goals) but are there duplicate players (as in "same player, same player ID") which start identical then can be "developed" differently according to the human player's will (like in FUT where you can have two teams facing each other, each one fielding a different version of Messi) or did you use the "Goals" approach where every player is unique (meaning that there would never be more than one team having, say, Cristiano Ronaldo or Messi at the same time in the game's universe)?
And how does the transfer market work? Is the game pack-only based or is there the chance to, say, approach another team in order to buy one of their players?
Just curious.

Good luck with the development though, I must say that I kinda like the idea of giving instructions on-the-fly and I really like that "2.5D" view of the match.

fair enough, and thanks for the kind words on the live coaching and the match view

players are fictional and each one is unique, one player one owner so you never have 2 versions of the same guy. they develop with matches and training and get older every season

and no its not pack only, packs are one way to get players but theres also a marketplace where managers buy and sell players between them + transfer windows during the season. in Arena you just start with a free squad.

Thanks! I think that having unique players is a huge plus to the game. Keep it up and good luck again!
