MP3 Converter

I'm looking for a bit of software that will convert music files, (mainly .m4a), into MP3 files. Any suggestions? Cheers.

I've recommended J River's Media Center over the years and still do. It does cost but there's a 30 day free trial if you only need to do a batch.

You can convert your .m4a files (or any other audio file compatible with iTunes) to MP3 using iTunes itself. It'll then keep all your info/artwork etc. aswell.

Go to:

iTunes > Preferences > General > Import Settings > Change the 'Import Using' drop-down box to MP3 Encoder.

Then press OK and exit out of that.

Then, in iTunes right click on the file/s you want to convert and select 'Create MP3 version'.

It'll then save to the same directory as your .m4a files and also add an MP3 version to iTunes.
