I can't see any thread about this game, so I think like Black-Myth Wukong this one deserves a thread:

Description:

You wake up at an abandoned train station in Krat, a city overwhelmed by madness and bloodlust. In front of you lies a single note that reads:

"Find Mr. Geppetto. He's here in the city."

Play as Pinocchio, a puppet mechanoid, and fight through everything in your path to find this mystery person. But don't expect any help along the way and don't make the mistake of trusting anyone.

You must always lie to others if you hope to become human.

Inspired by the familiar story of Pinocchio, Lies of P is an action souls-like game set in a cruel, dark Belle Époque world.
All of humanity is lost in a once beautiful city that has now become a living hell filled with unspeakable horrors.
Lies of P offers an elegant world filled with tension, a deep combat system and a gripping story.
Guide Pinocchio and experience his unrelenting journey to become human.

A Dark Fairytale Retold

The timeless tale of Pinocchio has been reimagined with dark and striking visuals.Set in the fallen city of Krat, Pinnochio desperately fights to become human against all odds.

Visual Concept

The city of Krat was insipired by the Belle Époque Era in Europe (late 19th Century to the early 20th Century) and is the epitome of a collapsed city bereft of prosperity.

'Lying' Quests and Multiple Endings

Experience interconnected procedural quests that play out depending on how you lie. These choices will then affect how the story ends.

Weapon-Making System

You can combine weapons in a multitude of ways to create something new altogether. Research to find the best combinations and make something truly special.

Special Skill System

With Pinocchio being a doll, you can change parts of his body to gain new skills and hopefully an edge in battle. But not all of the enhancements are for fighting though, they can also provide several other unique and useful features.

Sorry for the late answer @etb10dmk

Looks like a great Bloodborne like, perhaps even more easy or playable. But less dark. A tiny bit more "video game".
More dynamic, i like that it's looking much more direct and less stuff to trow : like the grappling to take an ennemy and kill him on close combat.
It's looks a lot like a copy to be honest much more than NIOH or Wu-Kong, but i don't care. > It's a day one buy to me. Graphically looks fantastic, well, technically.

Not the same "dark mood" as Bloodborne, more heroic etc. but well, gameplay, level design and overall ambiance first for that type of game. Don't care if it's looks like a copy.

But like Wu-Kong I've also heard about the future project(s) From are working on it....

And there's big chances that a Bloodborne sequel, remake or Alternative in another city than Yarnham, another hunting system is very susceptible to came out one day.

But i'm fearing that Miyazaki, as he said that artistically it's his better game, is a bit retractive to made a sequel less good than the first. Of course there will be less suprpise effect but i believe in FROM.

From Software in terms of artistical design and the feeling you got when you play their game, especially Bloodborne, is unrivalled. It shows that even with an average technical engine : you can create a masterpiece : it's art. You create your own universe, choice your ost, players movements (looks depressing like the story from an Hunter in Bloodborne) etc.

Appreciate your opinion about Lies of P. At first when I saw both 2021 trailers I was thinking that's mostly a dark "souls-like" game (as Bloodborne), then when I saw the trailer from Gamescom 2022 a couple of days ago I was thinking the same as you that the game changed its direction with a more "fantasy light approach", but in the end after I've watched more gameplay footage I think it's in the right direction more as a dark Bloodborne feel in terms of atmosphere including also some nice similar Sekiro mechanics:

There are lots of similarities in style like in Bloodborne on classes, weapons, combat approach, parry/backstab mechanics, consumables, interactions, exploration rewards, upgrades, some level design etc. From what I was analyzing in those recorded gameplay footage videos from Gamescom, I'm astonished how similar Lies of P. feels towards FromSoft games (I think it's the most similar than any souls "clones"). It's cool that Yarnham converts into Krat and the blood/gore theme reflects a new different approach with disturbing puppets taking control killing in grotesque ways every life form in that city.

I totally agree that From Software games are unrivalled in this particular genre and I'm sure they'll succeed in any project they'll release in the future. I also hope this particular game Lies Of P. will offer some similar quality in terms of gameplay and level design, in that way will have more companies plunging to offer more consumer friendly products with a more deep, diverse and intense content for people that are enjoying this particular genre.
