Kick. Snare. Hat. Ride.
Just a quickie to get the ball rolling on this one.
Not a Harry Potter fan at all - never read the books or watched any of the films. I know bits and pieces about what its about, but thats it.
Read a couple of reviews of the game though (and Dags opinion!) and as me and the missus like the ole Lego games, decided to give it a go.
It is really good - I dont get a lot of the references, though my missus has seen some of the films so fills me in - that said, we got a free blu-ray of the Philosopher's Stone with the game, so will probably watch that at some point in the near future.
The actual game though is standard Lego fare, with some nice improvements. The biggest for me (or us really), is the new dynamic split screen feature. Very well done and something that the genre needs - so now if you go off in seperate directions, the screen splits in half and lets you go wherever on your own - the split moves actively to show where you are in relation to the other person and when you get back close to them, the screen split dissolves away - as I say, really nicely done.
There are some nice touches with the spells that add more variety to the 'combat' and puzzles and you can now actually move large lego bits around to make things - but its only simple like platforms and steps etc.
All in all, enjoying it so far...
