Just a quickie, but does Pro Evo 5 support network play (e.g. over a LAN) as well as over the Internet?

Cheers,
Mark.

In that case, has anyone managed to create a dummy internet server or something like that to enable LAN play?

The online mode runs through Konami's authentification servers. So unless you want to really get deep into the networking code within the game to edit it, it's not really a viable option.

This is probably the reason no one has bothered yet (or will) with it. It's easier to just buy the game (as if you haven't already ;) ) for £17.99 from Play and play it legit online.

No I have the game, but we can't play at work over the LAN, and the firewall blocks the outgoing internet connections. Shame really.

Well you could always configure PES5 to use a different port than the default one of 5730.

You could try using port 25, as it's the SMTP Mail protocol port, usually open in many firewalls, unless your company have been especially tight. :)

Otherwise you could just run a port scan and find an open port that you could use. Your IT department might not like that too much though
