Is the PES 2009 demo better than FIFA 09s demo?!

Ok the demos out and I am downloading it at the moment.
Ofcourse many people are saying that its good but not drastically improved from the pes 2008 game.

However if anyone has played the FIFA 09 demo could you tell us how good it is? Is FIFA 09 better than PES 2009? Or is the new PES 2009 hell lot better than FIFA 09? That's what I am interested to know despite the fact that I bought FIFA 09. I want to know whether PES 2009 is worth it before I order that too.

The PC demos is won by Pes easily over FIFA PC, but the Pes PC Demo is average to say the least.
 
mm, im a pesfan boy but if i'm honest, pes looks as bad as last year, just looks they've only added few more moves and made the shooting worse. i don't think im gonna bother buying pes :/ it looks bad. fifa this year for me, i must sadly say
 
I hated pes 2008 and stuck with pes6 all year.

However PES 2009 plays much like pes 2006 souped up, in fact after 1 game I know
that I will love it.

Needs plenty of editing sound and music wise but thats part of the enjoyment.
 
If pes 2009 aint worth it I certainly won't be buying it! Probably I will save the money till March 2009 to buy Blizzards new Diablo 3:LOL:
 
PES 2009 is better than PES 2008

because:

- it has slower pace, which I like because it looks more realistic.
- the new controls are better especially the manual pass makes sense now, you only need to direct the right analog stic to make a quick manual pass, it is great for first touch passes.
- the AI is way more improved than 2008, they dont let you shoot from distance so easily and they close the gaps in the defense much better than last year. AI is better in offense as well with quick passes.
- Graphics are better with minor details. The shirts look better and they get wrinkles in real time, you can even see it when the players move. The new electronic adboards look great. The player models are better and the stadium models look good.

- The players like Cristiano Ronaldo are more balanced, they dont run like superman on the field. No more "take the ball, dribble all the way and score". The game is harder in all aspects.

- The menus look better with the modern look and i love the ability to quickly jump to the second half with one hit of a button during half time. No more useless menus.

- I like the way the players quickly celebrate a goal when the ball goes past the goal line, you can immediately see the players jumping to celebrate.

- The only thing i didnt like was the sound of the ball, it sounds too heavy.
This seems to be a good improvement over last years pes

Just so you know, this controller method has been supported for as long as I can remember, if you change your preferences in the controller settings to allow ""manual"" passing without the need to click the stick.
You won't be able to do the Marseille Roulette or the lift ball trick with the right stick then without clicking it, but you can't do them easily in the new game anyways so you're not missing anything. :)
 
Don't forget to disable frame skipping from the settings menu because it changes the gameplay dramatically
 
with its turned on it is faster and more arcady than PES 2008 when ı first played it i was shocked then somewhere in forums somebody told to disable the option and old PES is back again i don't know the technical explanation for this but you can try it yourself like its two other games
 
PES 09 demo on pc is definately better than Ffa 09 on pc but console versions of fifa are just great we have two good games now

Really hope I feel the same when I play 09!!

Yeah me too! In pes2008 and pes2009 players feel way too mechanic...not to mention the ball seems to weight a ton!

Maybe i can still change my mind...very disappointed with this demo, i guess only when they change the graphics engine again we will have a decent game like PES6 :(
 
I only managed to play 4 games last night but what I have seen from the game so far is the same rubbish problems that has plagued PES since the dawn of time.
- Robotic movement.
- Rubbish goalkeepers who parry everything and have poor positioning(It is like they watch sunday league football and think all keepers play like this).
- Passing, always passing too hard or too slow and never being able to do a through ball to the player you want.
- Awful animations.
- No major improvements in the gameplay to last year.

I will play it some more when I get home from work tonight, but Konami and Seabass have both made me angry about the shoddy effort they have put out this year.
I have now cancelled my pre-order with play, as this game isnt even worth a £1, I really hope they eventually get round to fixing it but looks like I will be waiting for PES 2010 and buying a PS3 so I can play a decent football game.
I am not scoring though as I will give it at least 10 games before I do that.

BUT I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO ANGRY OR DISSAPPOINTED.(and I bought PES 2008 last year).
 
Great thing about PES2009 is:
penalty shoot style.[inside part of the foot, much more normal]
referee gives red card easily and appoints for penalty kicks sometimes in wrong opinion. [for example: I made a tackle perfectly with Pirlo and Henry falled like a whore but the son of a bitch assigned a PK, just like in real life. lol]

I echo the opinion of superleeds1, pes6 was brilliant in my opinion and i still play it to this day, the fact the new pes looks and feels more like this is a bonus (my personal opinion) :)

Well it seem pes2008 fixed... that is a good new

the ball physic is very good...

the ball skidding........mmmm
i dont like that... tha ball slow dow too fast..maybe is realistic.. but it doesnt feel good

not every realistic stuff is good.... some times its better to think about the game...


i mean


a real plater doesnt have a number over his head (i mean the joypad number)....

so you can delete the number and the triangle graph... just to make it realistic... cause if you do that.... the user will never know.. witch player is selected........


same fo the skidding ball system.... maybe its realistic... but doesnt feels goo in the game


i prefer the pes6 and the pes2008 skidding...

seems llike a SEGA console...
seems the game was made for 9 years old kids
the fonts... omg... horrible... but i respect it.. cause they are japaneses... maybe they like the font... (i mean tey use japaneses fonts.. so maybe they like it)

game sound good... but will need a lot of patching

Well I think there are good news and bad news... First the good news:
-Graphics are better than the last version, pretty good though!
-AI seems better, you feel like it is a real game when the score is 0-0 or when you are losing!
-Although the stats can't be called pretty accurate, there was an effort in order to make the game more balanced. There aren't no more super players and regular random players. The gap between lets say Messi and Pennant isn't as notorius in the field as it was in 2008! Good achievement then!
-Strict referees!
-Foggy effects when taking a corner!
Bad news:
-You can have the superhero effect with C. Ronaldo but I warn you you will be heavly tackle and opposition will have some red cars to worry about!
-Keepers are just as poor as in 2008. Awfull when rushing out, looks like their hands have butter, miss easy saves...
-The balls seems a bit slow in long shots

Don't turn off skip frames as you aren't playing the real game you are just playing a slower version because your pc can't take the original 60 fps ratio. So it will just slow down in order to reach that level...
 
my thoughts of the game:
The good
The shooting system - the ball is not always in front of goal (PES2008), and it does not fly 10 miles up (ala PES6). It's just in the middle and I love it :)
The AI seems to not let you have space. That leads to not creating a goal with one player.
Pace is just right.
Graphics are one idea better than PES2008.
Fixed cursor and Vertical Camera let you try the "Become A Legend" mode (sort of). It's really really cool.
The manual pass is easy and effective.
Nets physics are better.
We'll have Become A Legend, UEFA CL, Legends and 2v2 online in the full game. Sweet (now if there's no lag, it will be great!)

The bad:
Goalies are not better - yes, they try to catch the ball more often, but even more frequently they fall asleep and don't even jump to save a ball 2 meters away...
Controls are really really dumb - yes, they work faster, but watch this YouTube - Dribling J_Juve pes09 -.- Really, really bad...
The game's not feeling as PES5 or PES6 - more like a hybrid between PES2008 and PES6.
The free kick 2nd player is stupid - he nudges the ball to the fk taker, but you can't dribble with him - it ALWAYS passes or shoots after he gets to the ball.
Presentation (menus and music) is dull and stupid...

The zeroless (not + nor -)
Refs are stricter, which is good, but even more often make mistakes. And they don't let advantages...


So that's 8+ and 5-. Overall a + game, we just have to pray it's even better than that :)
