1. It helps a little.
2. You can delete it from your HDD if you don't see any different.
3. Currently the option files are not more than 10MB.

The game takes up about 2gb and does seem to help the slowdown. Mine seems to play perfect in normal mode and pretty good on replays now I installed.

Although before I installed the game it wasnt that bad apart from replays.

You have this option on the "System Settings" on the game.

I haven't experienced any slowdowns and have a smooth copy. Do you guys think if I install this data on the HDD, will it reveal any slowdown?

Also, this data install won't affect my option file even if I delete it afterwards correct?

If you don't experience any slowdown, there isn't any reason why you should install it.
anyway, the installation isn't affect your option file, even if you remove it.
You remove only the game data, not the option file or anoter saved data =]
