Help - Defending!

I'm shocking at defending on PES2008 and am in desperate need of some decent tips and tricks.

I play a flat back four but my left and right backs spend more time attacking than defending - how can I adjust this?

When an opposition player runs at me I can never tackle them, I try to use slide tackle as little as possible but using they just skip right past me.

Can I change my two CB's to man marking as they are never tight enough?

Can I change how often the COM changes my players - I'd much rather more control using than I've already got, the COM rarely selects the player I want.

Think there's more but can't think of it at the moment, thanks for your help

go with a flat back 5, or fill the midfield more leaving one up front. I played against a kid who went Barca, and all he did to me, was just run at me everytime. So i kept fouling his players till i got the match cancelled, he was doing my head in all match. He wouldnt even pass the ball around, he just used one player all the time to run and score .

You gotta make your RB and LB CB's. Or change the arrow of the RB/LB, so that they stay at the back.

how they use them, some just seem to want to run at you with the speed of their players, and dont bother passing the ball around.

Was wondering if i set the attacking arrows to back and left for left back and back and right for right back would that aid it?

I usually change the LB and RB arrows so that is points to the back. So, yeah.

i like to go barca now, but i pass the ball around if i can. but before that i used to go newcastle all the time, which wasnt much fun just like the real newcastle team

I used to pick Newcastle, too. I still do every now and then. I don't like to play 5 matches straight with one team.

Oh, and I have NEVER chosen Barca. Not even in Training Mode. I loathe them that much.

when i play online just in mess around games, i like to pick international teams really to stop people picking AC Milan, Chelsea & Barca. Just think club sides take the fun out of online game play sometimes.

easiest way to defend i have found is to hold the X button whilst also holding down the square button together it will make your guy that u are on run after the ball and tackle whilst the square button will call a nearby player so u get 2 players going after the ball instead of just the one player

Sure, but then everyone will pick Brasil or France. Maybe name a room "SMALL TEAMS ONLY". Perhaps that could help.

You can set marking when you are setting formation

that is not good. If two players are trying to stop him. one player always stays uncovered and with a few quick passes, they can easily score
