For anyone who is currently at Uni or has been to Uni, what is the best accommodation...halls of residence or a flat?
Tell me your experience in them?

Both are my idea of hell but all my mates who went to uni tell me that they had the most fun in their later years in their own houses.
yeah i agree your better off in the own houses, BUT if you dont know anyone at uni, then definatley live in the residence halls first year, your not gonna meet people in class usually, and you end up making some good friends who are in the same situation as you...
Been there, done that...believe stringer, it's a flat you need.
You will have some friends and then it's all the same...if you want to study and have a litle bit of privacy, then a flat is a million times better.
I had to pay my years at Uni myself so i had to do jobs while studying...i once had a jon as some sort of janitor in a hall of residence only for girls...i had the time of my life there.
Okay say I guess a halls of residence is better.
I will need privacy do my work and also get up to evil deeds!
What should i expect of the rooms though???
see exactly, in some capacity you need to be in the residence halls... a flat wont do that for you and unfortunatley these days i doubt women will take to a janitor like in the swinging 70's...
I'd want to study in a quite place, but at the same time have fun when i'm bored.mate, you need a prescription of ritalin and you need to find a nice quiet spot in the library, cause studying in the residence hall probably wont be possible with all the noise and distractions. Everyone is gonna have ps3's, 360's, drugs, beer, porn.. etc... honestly its hard to get work done in that environment, but i think its part of the weeding out process for colleges. NOW if your not into that whole partying scene, then fuck it, get a flat. But if that kind of think interests you, then go for it.
Swinging 80's you rascal...don't make it worse...bloody yank...:mrgreen::mrgreen:
