Having staggered and knocked the ball out to him , the player takes a touch and hits in goal ward. His team mate is standing offside behind my player as he touch the ball out, yet the goal stood..

The amount of times I've seen offside given when my players are in line with the last defender and its a hairline verdict because the toe of my players boot or kneecap is sticking out a fraction of an inch more than the defenders..

Usual cheating from the cpu..

I would personally say that the goal should stand, yes the player is offside but he drilled the ball into the net and it would have gone in if the player was there or not and i think it would stand in real life too.

This is a matter of understanding the rules, and every ref understands them in a different way.. In my opinion it's offisde, as he's a part of the game.. The keeper is distracted by him whatsoever.. Clear offside in my opinion

I know this is going to start a debate but how is he distracting the keeper the keeper is a yard in front of him and if he dived would not hit the player.
He is shooting not passing the ball.

It would only be offside if the player blocked the keeper's way or prevented him from blocking in anyway. That's not an offside, imo.

I thought offside was if you're between the last 2 opposing players? As he's even behind the goalkeeper, he's not between 2 opposing players right? So I think the goal should stand, but you can correct me if I'm wrong.

I was just annoyed because he was clearly yards offside and yet time and time again I see offside given against my players and when it shows you the replay there bodies are in line with the last defender and its a bent knee or toe of boot that sticks out inches beyond the last player while bodies are side by side in line.

youre right legit goal

It is not if you are in between them! You must have two defenders (including the keeper) goal side of you to not be offside, unless you are 'passive' (not affecting the game play), or if the ball is passed backwards to you (like rugby).

The question in this is if the player is interfering with the play and distracting the players. I would say he is interfering - if you are in the 6 yard box when the shot is taken he would be affecting a real defence.

the rule should be taken out .. offside is offside and that would be the end of it ...

What happens is defenders (real games) see a player run offside so push out, and the ball is not passed to him but another in an onside position the play goes on and the ball ends up with the player that had run offside to start with and scores. But to say he was not interfering with play is not true, as the defence react to his actions and push out allowing the play to go on side in other piece of the pitch. So that player moving into an offside postion all be it on the other side of play to where the ball is, still make defenders react and push out..

So that player been in that offside position when the play is moving forward has an effect on the defence.

The question is whether the offside player touches the ball imo. If not and the ball goes in, theres nothing wrong.

Thats wrong. Theres no in between about it. There has to be 2 opposing players either in line or in front of the attacker for it to be onside.Being in front 1 or 0 players would be offside. Unless its a pass backwards or the attacker being passed to was behind the passing attacker when the ball was played. i know my shit
