You're true about Piqué. I'll take out:

- Igor Akinfeev
- Davide Santon
- Marouane Chamakh
- Ruud van Nistelrooy
- Raúl
- Eduardo
- Klaas-Jan Huntelaar
- Ronaldinho
- Santi Cazorla
- Jesús Navas
- Alessandro Del Piero
- Andrea Pirlo
- Dmytro Chygrynskiy

Well you could take out Santon, Ronaldinho, Huntelaar...

Eduardo and Van Nistelrooy have barely played for a long time...

Agree about Santon and Eduardo. The rest still warrant a place in the top 100. I'd have Dinho closer to 100. Maybe 97/98.

No reason to take out guys like RVN, Raul, Del Piero, and Pirlo if your going to leave Giggs in.;)

Big reason for me, I think Giggs was one of the best players of the English Premier League last season and still is in a very good level this.

I think van Nistelrooy couldn't be there with only 1 game in league this year, while Raúl, Del Piero and Pirlo hadn't a great or good year, just regular.

I wouldn't say that Giggs had a great year. The PFA award was a sentimental vote and everyone knows it. Guys like Raul, and Del Pi had a similar influence on their teams so I would not put Giggs above them. Nistelrooy is still a top 5 striker when healthy, and thus, would merit an inclusion based on that IMO.

In the current issue of World Soccer magazine there is a World's greatest striker article.

Goals have been weighted to take into account greater importance for those scored in European and international competiton, and the lesser importance attached to goals in domestic cup competitions. As with the ESM Golden Shoe, league goals have also been given a weighting, with goals scored in Europe's leading five leagues receiving two points each.

Here are our top 20 -

1) David Villa
2) Samuel Eto'o
3) Cristiano Ronaldo
4) Miroslav Klose
5) Luca Toni
6) Klaas-Jan Huntelaar
7) Didier Drogba
8) Thierry Henry
9) Fernando Torres
10) Freddie Kanoute
11) Dimitar Berbatov
12) Diego Forlan
13) Luis Fabiano
14) Mario Gomez
15) Wayne Rooney
15) Lionel Messi
17) Kaka
18) Ruud Van Nistelrooy
19) Robbie Keane
20) Zlatan Ibrahimovic

I'm disagree, apart of the sentimentalism, I think Giggs has been one of the better players of the English Premier League this year (after just some regular years). I'm not considering the PFA Award.

Well your right about one thing. Giggs has defn been one of the best so far for the 2009/2010 Premier League Season. I've seen him 4 times this season and he has been absolute class. Numerous amounts of assists.

Giggs should be higher on the list. He was goos last season and this season he's Man Utd best player...
Essien isn't in it (unless i've overlooked him but it think i haven't).
Villa definitely is better than Torres.

But it's all very subjective.

I would say both Giggs and Rooney are MUFC's most important players. I think Torres edges Villa in club football while Villa gets the nod when it comes to International comps. All things considered I'd call it a draw. Similar to Xavi and Iniesta.

Giggs is not one of our most important players but he's been one of our best performing players so far this season and last season, it's akin to saying Henry is one of Barca's most important players.

The list has our three most important players in the top 22.

You think he's more important than Rio or Vida?

He's most likely fourth in my pecking order, more important in the big games than in general, whereas the other three are important in general, case in point being yesterday's game against CSKA.
