Been playing the demo an awful lot since it come out, always on top player difficulty, and here's my thoughts in a nutshell...

The game speed is too fast, leaving you little time to think about your next move. The AI presses way too much, and are annoyingly very good at it. They are able to seamlessly take the ball off you from behind all the time. Virtually all contact results in a foul. Yellow cards are brandished too readily. Goalkeepers are absoultely abysmal, fumbling an amazing amount of shots into the goal. Regular crosses always land in the keeper's hands, and seemingly the only way to score from a corner is via an own goal. The computer scores the majority of its goals through long ball counter attacks. Most rebounds, deflections and second balls fall for the computer, and once again, long passes never make it to one of your players. For that matter, short passes aren't particularly accurate this time either. It happens way too often that I'm going for a simple pass to a player a few yards away, but the ball either gets passed straight to an opponent, into open space or out of play altogether.

Team vision my ass.

I agree with alot of what you say, but we must not be too hasty in judging pes 2008, the full game will be very different - we are only playing the demo.

PES is always frustrating - as is football generally - if it was too easy we would get bored - eventually we will master the game, and have lots of fun I am sure.

PES can be a bit one sided in favour of the computer, about one in a hundred of my crosses actually get to a forwards head, and somtimes there is such a delay in making a pass or shot that I have been tackled or I'm off side aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh! The players are difficult to keep in position and often run away from attacking apponents, leaving so much space.

I still love the game though!

dude, it's just a demo - let's see what the full version will bring us... and I had exactly the same opinion the first day I played the demo, but it changed radically by playing it more and more ... and at the moment I love it!

I hope the full game is better, I really do. To be honest, I think I could live with most of the problems I was going on about. The one thing Konami have to fix though is the game speed. Just turn it down a few notches. I'm sure the full game will prolly be a bit better when we can use the wide cam and I can get some team vision of my own.

I always hated every PES demo I played! I was realy angry about the PES6 demo and hated it,.. but now I'm 2023 of my ML and still loving it :)
