defensive midfielders

I am currently playing PES6 and usually playying 4-4-2 i have 1 defensive midfielder who i want to just sit in fron tof the back 4 even when i am attacking. I have the defensive arrow on HIGH & the attack arrow facing back and use Mascherano when i am playing with Liverpool but when i attack he just bombs forward
How can i solve this?

put a cm or am directly in front of him. his attacking play will be sporadic.
