Deadly attacking players, but not the best defence.

Strong squad and I think Croatia can surprise many. But why Lovren out? Injuries?

He's a very good defender and getting better. Should be on bench at least

Yes, injuries are reason why Buljat is in and Lovren is out. He got injured in french cup final and Bulić has waited until today to make decision about him.

I think someone from his family was Croatian (from fathers or mothers side) and as DamjanStefanov said, he grew up in Šibenik.

Also, we have drawn 1-1 today with Norway, after leading 1-0 with Eduardo's goal some 15 minutes before end. Today we have shown very bad performance from defense and midfield. Pletikosa, Eduardo and maybe Srna played OK, others were unrecognizable. Modrić haven't played as he is sick and Olić have picked up an injury

Olic out, bummer. Luckily Croatia have enough good strikers to replace him.

Yeah his work rate and stamina is legendary but other than that, Croatia have much better (more potent) strikers anyway so not a HUGE loss. But it will be a loss especially as he was also very experienced and could always come on as a sub and do some damage.

Well it is a big loss because he is a player for big games..
Just remember WC 2002 when he scored an equalizer against Italy, brilliant performance at Wembley when Croatia defeated England and later on EURO 2008 when he scored against Germany in the group stage, and finally a great game vs Turkey in the playoffs for EURO 2012..

True. Pressure doesn't faze him much. Also great performances in Champions' League with lots of experience. That's why it is a loss. But I'd still rather lose him than Jelavic or Mandzukic who can both score lot of goals this tournament.

well, it seems that we are destined to loose one striker before competition starts.
2012 - Olić
2008 - Eduardo
1998 - Bokšić

I am not 100% sure for other tournaments, but for those 3 I am

New problem for us. Seems that Jelavić has sustained a minor injury on training session yesterday and he might not be ready for opening match against Ireland

I think I had misheard TV reporter said Jelavić instead of Iličević.

But than again, Ćorluka had left training session yesterday, but luckily he will be ready for match against Ireland.

Bilić has announced final lineup for match against Ireland. There are few changes from lineup he had announced earlier

Pletikosa

Srna Ćorluka Schildenfeld Strinić

Rakitić Vukojević Modrić Perišić

Jelavić Mandžukić

The four things I'll remember when thinking about Croatia's participation:

-The "fans".
-The left boobs.
-The right boobs.
-Mario Mandzukic.
