There's an interesting story on the BBC Sport site about the amount of work that goes into creating a season's fixture lists. I thought it was just random, or if you believe Rafa, all down to Sir Alex ;)

Fixtures for the opening day of the season:

Aston Villa v Wigan
Blackburn v Man City
Bolton v Sunderland
Chelsea v Hull
Everton v Arsenal
Man Utd v Birmingham
Portsmouth v Fulham
Stoke v Burnley
Tottenham v Liverpool
Wolverhampton v West Ham

Everton - Arsenal and Tottenham - Liverpool look to be the two biggest games of the day.
