Changing shot direction of a layoff free kick

Hey, when im laying off a free kick I cant change the shot direction, the ball just goes straight into the keepers hands. Is there a way to change the direction when the player attempts to shoot or an other way?
 
Yes. Just direct your shot as if you're taking a normal free kick before laying off the ball. Now go score some goals from the midfield ;)
