Can't hear away fans in PES 10 demo

The Doctor76

Premier League
27 February 2009

Man Utd
Now, I am hoping this is down to the 70% build, because the same damn thing happened last year with PES 2009 - you didn't hear any away fans at all and that ruined the atmosphere for me. Doesn't matter too much, unless you like using the great chantspacks that become available for the PC, in which case it matters a lot.

Can anyone in the know tell me whether that 'little' oversight has been corrected in the latest build? Konami were supposed to give us a better atmosphere - that's not exactly helping. I mean, they don't even cheer when they score - not a whimper! That hardly ever happens in real football.

The full games not yet released, show some patience man, if people knew the answer they would tell you.

I know, sorry for my impatience, it's just that the full game of PES 2009 was released like that...

A whole month to go as well, why do Konami have to release three weeks after EA?

I read somewhere that both sets of fans can be heard in full version.

Hope its true, also I hate the deathly silence when you score,

the least Konami could do would be fixing this.

cuz Konami dont care anymore. This is how PES 2009 was also with only home chants.
Seeing as pes 10 is just PES 09 with some tweaks (and some that actually make the game worse than PES 09), its likely nothing will change from the demo.
A crap demo produces a crap game.

Im really hoping you can hear the away fans this time around, seems to be another feature to vanish in the konami triangle, but hey at least now the fans and team both celebrate when an own goal is scored.........

Interesting, if you read it this close to release, maybe it's true (who knows). If you find it, post it here please. :)

Don't agree with that at all. The demo is far from crap!

It wont be true, mark my words. Konami are far to clueless to even implement such a simple fine detail as having away fans sing as well. However, you used to get it happening in previous versions where chants were non-existant by default (only notice it if u patched the game urself.). In PES6, you got away fans who would simply shout quiter than home fans and at different times. In PES 2008, both sets of fans would sing at the same-time resulting in a total head-ache. Of course, the gamer would only be aware of the above if they had a chants pack installed as until PES2009, Konami basically totally overlooked fan chants and stadium atmosphere in general.....and maybe it was for the best that the useless kunts did overlook it cos look wot they came up with when they did attend to stadium atmosphere, RIVERPOOL RIVERPOOL RIVERPOOL ah-so, RIVERPOOL RIVERPOOL RIVERPOOL * 1000. Do none of the gamestester have the bottle to inform the dev team that their chants are totally naueseating? And, you aint even got the option to turn them off without killing all the other sound effects as well. These guys must be complete idiots!

Konamis approach to stadia atmosphere is a clear sign of the misdirection that exists in the PES development team. I mean, even implementing a system whereby the Home fans sing, when they draw or win, but you hear the away fans singing if they are winning, would add a hell of a lot of life to the game. This would be the easiest thing in the world to implement and the fact that nothing like this exists is simply pathetic.

U are in a minority their mate. Most people including myself think the demo is tragic. And that is people who are/were still fans of the series to begin with. For those converted to FIFA or those looking at both games for the first time, PES2010 offers little appeal in comparison with its only competitor.

Let's hope.

Stop hoping.

I actually don't care either way. I never download chantpacks because I get sick and tired of hearing the same few chants over and over and over and over and over again. What Konami need to do first of all is either tone down the frequency of the chants, or triple the amount available to each club so you get a little variety. You could fill all those extra slots with generic, or essentially blank chants if you want, just so you're not hearing the same chant 30 times a match.

Look at the results of this poll from PESFan. I'm certainly not in the minority at all:

The vast majority either love the game, or think it's ok (it was scored out of 5 - I gave it 4).

When both sets of fans are chanting, it doesn't matter - I remember how good PES 2008 sounded with those chant packs. Agreed about the ones that loop the same chants over and over and in the same order, but not all of them do that.

Quoting a pesfan poll on how good a pes game is like going to communist China and asking the people whether they think their government is good or bad.

Pesfan (spit) is a horrible site that breeds fan-boy arse-lickers. Probably the 'refs' their are already looking at who voted less than 4 in order to line them up for lifetime bans.

The consensus on less partisan Pro Evo fan sites is very VERY different I think u may find.

 excellent point

fanboys will go to the grave with Konami even if they revert back to pes 2 game play. I don't care, all I know is , FIFA is going to mop the floor with PES when its released. Plus the online play will likely be horrendous again without many features and unplayable lag.
The thing that bothers me the most is how Konami REHASHES the same shit for PES 09 especially celebrations and animations. Commentary will also be PES 09 so thats going to be muted instantly.
I could write essays about all the problems in this shizer game

The only positive you can make of PES is that its extremely moddable and the patching can turn it into a pretty museum thats nice on the eyes but vein popping on the gameplay.
in the end it depends what you want really

Nonsense. There are plenty of people over at PESFan complaining about the game, just like there are people at the Fifa 10 PC forums leaving in droves (I was one of them) because of the awful Fifa 10 PC.

lol mate you were wasting your time on the fifa 10 pc forum.. EA is never ever going to make a next gen for PC.
When FIFA 15 comes out on PC, it will probably be like FIFA 10 360/PS3.

Hmph. I know that now, hence my avatar.

hehe nice ! I didn't notice the "change" until now
:D
but the console versions are exempt from that statement

I've just thought of something: all the matches we've seen so far have been exhibitions . Maybe, in competitive matches, or in the ML, we'll hear the away fans...

Ever heard of the phrase: 'Clutching at straws'?

You will NOT hear away fans in PES 2010. Such presentation subtleties that would be totally easy to implement such as hearing away fans if there team should be winning etc is beyond the grasp of the creative masterminds at Konami.

With the crowd sounds that Konami have got just now, they would actually be better off with no sounds at all. At present, the crowd chants that Konami bundle with the game actually do a lot of harm to the game in that the make the gamer feel nauseous and reaching for the volume controls pretty fast.

Thank fuck I play on PC and can easily patch the chants in order that they:

A) play proper club fan chants recorded by people at games
B) play a little less frequently (simply by uploading empty chant file to 1-2 of the 5 slots)

Whoever is in charge of Sounds at PES HQ needs a ninja blade in the back of his neck.

The Ninja blade's a bit strong, but I share your frustration. Thank God for the PC's chant packs, eh?
