Can't cancel RT + LT while in Direct Input

Well, the title says it all. I defend using LT and run by RT, but I can't cancel while in DirectInput (using this because it should help with input lag they said); while in XInput, I can do this cancel skill. Should I stick to RT + LT in XInput or try to go to RB + RT on DirectInput?

EDIT: Nothing said. Seems XInput > DirectInput and I didn't know that.
