Cable HELP

Only new to the pc community so just a question that most of you can answer easily.
Is a CAT 5 Cable the same as an ethernet cable or are they completely different. Just setting up my wireless gameplay and need to know asap.

The simeple answer is YES, Cat5/Ethernet are for the most part, the same.

Cat5 (Category 5) cable is the name given to cabling which fulfills a set criteria:

Ethernet is a method of achieving Local Area Networking and as Category 5 cable has been used for this, over the years, Cat5 cable has become known to be called "Ethernet" cable.
