Hi pals, a new Anno game:

Release: 2025
Platform: PC, XBOX Series X/S and PS 5

I'm not sure if it still will work, but you can try to get invited for an closed beta. https://www.ubisoft.com/en-gb/game/...atthalterin-deine-erste-mission-erwartet-dich

I hope this will be really great and waiting for an email from Ubisoft for an beta key. If I would get one.

But I don't know when I could play this because of the amount of AAA game releases in 2025.

Ohhh. Really enjoy the anno games. I do like the industrial age of the last one, although my supply chains eventually got battered. Curious to see how it works with Rome age. Looking forward to this. Thanks for the heads up I will research it more.

As a huge fan of Simcity and Age of Empires, this looks very cool, a bit of a mixture of both perhaps?

Interestingly, I wasn't aware of the Anno games, I'll take a look at their back catalog. Seems like very deep gameplay.

They are great city building games with supply chain added to them. I really enjoyed the latest one (Anno 1800). But older titles are great too. Its not too much of combat game, you don't control individual units except ships, you just tell them what to build and control the production.

Build woodcamp - then build a woodsaw factory => now you can have wood pieces to build homes to get more workers to feed off these supply chains.
Have a pig farm - build a slaughterhouse => now you have sausage which makes your citizens happy, (same with beer but instead of pigs, barley) .. and so on with a bunch of prime materials in your island. happier citizens get upgraded and instead of sausage now they want fancier food instead of beer and sausage, so you find a way to grow it or trade it.

check out a lets play in YouTube... I really recommend them

First Gameplay Trailer:

I heard from some german YT that release should be at winter 2025. And one of those mean maybe at 11.7. = 7th of November, because of ANNO 117???

It looks pretty good. I'd like to see how it differentiates from 1800, although I really enjoy that game and am replaying due it being on gamepass on my xbox.

Release date: 13th of November 2025

I'm concerned about the graphics. In the YouTube videos of the closed demo and now also in the trailer, I see a lot of washed-out textures and often a gray haze.
It really doesn't look good. Hopefully the developers will fix it.

The game should have a "demo" from 2nd of September till 16th of September available. But just 1 hour to play. But you can play the one hour how often you want.

For my opinion it doesn't sound like a demo. More like a two weeks open beta or so. And one hour for an Anno game is way to less time.

This game looks very nice, with a great presentation that focuses on Rome involving some city building and strategic elements. This releases also in November, but man, I just can't pick more than one game in that month, because Europa Universalis V also releases, and that game is a very big, huge, biggest deal for me... :WORSHIP:

I played the demo yesterday. There are quite a few bugs, glitches which are not beeing in the latest closed beta.

And yea, only one hour to play in which you can only explore around ~ 5% by the whole game, is disappointing.

But anyway I'm preordered it. I'm a big fan by the Anno franchise series.

I was going to download it but for 1 hour I think I'll wait, I like to play these games really slow and 1 hour would just give me a bit of time to get some houses going (90GB+ install size??????).

Besides that, how did you find it vs Anno 1800? I jumped back into 1800 and really enjoy it and I know it might seem weird but I prefer the timeframe of 1800 vs the Roman one. So how is gameplay / graphics differentiate? Looking forward to creating a nice town until my supply chains break down.

It's hard to say how it compares to Anno 1800.
Because, as we discovered, one hour of playtime isn't enough to get an impression.

The graphics are relatively similar to 1800. Maybe a little nicer (ray tracing included, but hardly noticeable to me, even on the highest setting). But the performance is, at least relatively poor.

Otherwise, I find the ‘scenario’ (time period) a little better than 1800 for my taste.
Especially since you can play two different regions from the start (Latium or Albion).
Latium is the region of the Romans and Albion is the region of the Celts.

These different regions also play differently.

Yeah one hr is not a good indicator of how it is although i dont expect the gameplay loop to be different in Anno games (which is great). Still excited about it and hope they optimize it, it does look very nice. Will check reviews before buying as I think 1800 will hold me off till a sale.
